સ્વાર્થ, ઔદાસ્ય, ઈંદ્રિયાસક્તિથી હાલ કાટ ખાઈ ગયેલ મારી ચેતનાના પારણાને સાફ કરીને તથા હરરોજના ઊંડા દિવ્ય ધ્યાન અને આત્મનિરિક્ષણ તથા વિવેક વડે પાલીશ કરીને સર્વવ્યાપક શીશુ ક્રાઈસ્ટના આગમનની તૈયારી કરીશ. ભ્રાતૃપ્રેમ, નમ્રતા, શ્રદ્ધા, ઈશ્વરાનુભૂતિ માટેની ઇચ્છા, ઇચ્છાશક્તિ, આત્મસંયમ, ત્યાગ અને નિઃસ્વાર્થતાના ઉજ્જ્વળ આત્મગુણો વડે પારણાનું નવિનીકરણ કરીશ કે જેથી હું દિવ્ય બાળકના જન્મ દિવસની યોગ્ય રીતે ઉજવણી કરી શકું.

I will prepare for the coming of the Omnipresent Baby Christ by cleaning the cradle of my consciousness, now rusty with selfishness, indifference, and sense attachments; and by polishing it with deep, daily, divine meditation, introspection, and discrimination. I will remodel the cradle with the dazzling soul-qualities of brotherly love, humbleness, faith, desire for god-realization, will power, self-control, renunciation, and unselfishness, that I may fittingly celebrate the birth of the Divine Child.

ક્રિસમસના ચૈતન્યનો જે અનુભવ કરો છો તેનો આજેને આજે અંત ન આવે, પરંતુ પ્રત્યેક રાત્રિએ જેવા તમે ધ્યાન કરો ત્યારે તે તમારી સાથે ને સાથે રહે તેમ હું ઈચ્છું છું. તમે જ્યારે તમારા સઘળા ચંચળ વિચારોને મનમાંથી તગેડી મૂક્યા હશે ત્યારે તમારા પોતાના મનની નીરવતામાં કુટસ્થ ચેતન્ય પ્રગટ થશે. જો આપણે જીસસના સઘળા ચૈતન્યને અનુસરીએ તો આપણામાં દરરોજ તેની વિદ્યમાનતાને ચોક્કસપણે અનુભવીશું.

May the Christmas spirit you feel not end with today; rather may it be with you every night as you meditate. Then in the silence of your own mind, as you drive away all restless thoughts, Christ Consciousness [Kutastha Chaitanya] will come. If we all follow the spirit of jesus we shall surely experience every day his presence within us.

મારા પ્રિયજનો મારૂં ક્રિસમસ સતત નિત્ય વર્ધમાન, અક્ષય આનંદમાં સદાય ચાલુ રહેશે. જો આ આનંદ સીમિત હોત તો સાંસારિક સુખની જેમ સમય જતાં બધુ જ નાશ પામત. પરંતુ કોઈ પણ સંત પરમાત્માના નિત્યનવીન પરમાનંદને નિઃશેષ કરી શક્યા નથી.

And so, dear ones, my christmas will go on forever, in ever increasing joy everlasting. If this joy were limited, as worldly happiness is, a time would come when all would be finished. But no saint will ever be able to exhaust the ever-new bliss of God.

Divine Love

પ્રભુનો પ્રેમ એ જ વાસ્તવિકતા છે. આપણને પ્રભુના આ પ્રેમની અનુભુતિ થવી જોઈએ જ. કેટલો મહાન, કેટલો આનંદદાયક, એની મહાનતાનું વર્ણન કરવાની શરૂઆત પણ કરી શકું તેમ નથી! દુનિયાના લોકો વિચારે છે “હું આમ કરૂં છું, મેં પેલું માણ્યું. તેઓ ગમે તે કરતા હોય અને આનંદ માણતા હોય તેનો અંત નિશ્ચિત છે. પરંતુ પ્રભુનો પ્રેમ અને આનંદ જે હું અનુભવું છું તે અનંત છે. જેણે તેને એક વખત ચાખ્યો છે તે કદી પણ ભૂલી શકે નહીં, એ એટલો મહાન છે કે એની જગ્યા બીજી કોઈ વસ્તુ લઈ ન શકે. આપણે સર્વે ખરેખર ઈચ્છીએ છીએ, તે પ્રભુનો પ્રેમ છે. અને જ્યારે તમે ઊંડી અનુભૂતિ મેળવો ત્યારે તે તમને મળશે

The love of God is the only Reality. We must realize this love of God — so great, so joyful, I could not even begin to tell you how great it is! People in the world think, “I do this, I enjoy that.” Yet whatever they are doing and enjoying inevitably comes to an end. But the love and joy of God that I feel is without any end. One can never forget it once he tasted it; it is so great he could never want anything else to take its place. What we all really want is the love of God. And you will have it when you attain deeper realization.

Divine Love

સર્વથી મહાન પ્રણય અનંત સાથેનો છે. જીવન કેવું સુંદર બને તે વિષે તમને કોઈ ખ્યાલ નથી. જ્યારે તમે પ્રભુને સર્વત્ર જુઓ, ત્યારે તે આવે, તમારી સાથે વાત કરે અને તમને માર્ગદર્શન આપે, ત્યારે દિવ્ય પ્રેમનો પ્રણય શરૂ થયો કહેવાય.

The greatest romance is with the Infinite. You have no idea how beautiful life can be. When you suddenly find God everywhere, when He comes and talks to you and guides you, the romance of divine love has begun.

Inner Renunciation

પ્રભુ ઈચ્છે છે કે આ આપણી માયાની દુનિયામાંથી આપણે છટકવું જોઈએ. એ આપણા માટે રડે છે, કારણ કે એ જાણે છે કે આપણે માટે મુક્તિ મેળવવાની કેટલી અઘરી છે પરંતુ તમારે એટલું જ યાદ રાખવાનું છે કે તમે એના બાળક છો. તમે તમારી જાતની દયા ખાશો નહીં. પ્રભુ જેટલો ક્રાઈસ્ટ અને કૃષ્ણને પ્રેમ કરે છે તેટલો જ પ્રેમ તમને કરે છે. તમારે તેનો પ્રેમ મેળવવો જોઈએ, કારણ કે તે શાશ્વત મુક્તિ, અનંત આનંદ અને અમરતાને આવરી લે છે.

The Lord wants us to escape this delusive world. He cries for us, for He knows how hard it is for us to gain His deliverance. But you have only to remember that you are His child. Don’t pity yourself. You are loved just as much by Gods as are Krishna and Jesus. You must seek His love, for it encompasses eternal freedom, endless joy, and immortality.

Inner Renunciation

ત્યાગ એ નકારાત્મક નથી, હકારાત્મક છે. દુ:ખ સિવાય કોઈ પણ વસ્તુને છોડી દેવી તે ત્યાગ નથી. ત્યાગ એ ભોગ આપવાનો માર્ગ છે એમ વિચારવું જોઈએ નહીં. વસ્તુત: એ દિવ્ય રોકાણ છે કે જેમાં આત્મસંયમના થોડાં પૈસાનું રોકાણ લાખ્ખો આધ્યાત્મિક રૂપિયામાં ઉપજશે. આપણી દિવસોરૂપી ઝડપથી પસાર થતી સુવર્ણમુદ્રાઓને અમરત્વ ખરીદવા ખર્ચવી એ શું ડહાપણ નથી?

Renunciation is not negative but positive. It isn’t the giving up of anything except misery. One should not think of renunciation as a path of sacrifice. Rather it is a divine investment, by which our few paise of self-discipline will yield a million spiritual rupees. It is not wisdom to spend the golden coins of our fleeting days to purchase Eternity?

Inner Renunciation

જીવનને માણવું એ બરાબર છે, વસ્તુમાં આસક્ત ન થવું તેમાં સુખનું રહસ્ય છે. ફુલની સુગંધ માણો પરંતુ તેમાં પ્રભુને જુઓ. મેં ઈંન્દ્રિયોની ચેતના એટલા માટે રાખી છે કે તેના ઉપયોગ થકી હું પ્રભુ વિશે હંમેશા જાણું અને વિચારું. “તારા સૌંદર્યને સર્વત્ર નીરખવા માટે મારા નેત્રો ને બનાવાયા છે. તારો સર્વવ્યાપક ધ્વની સાંભળવા મારા કાન બનાવાયા છે.” આ જ યોગ છે, પ્રભુ સાથેનું ઐક્ય. તેને ખોળવા માટે જંગલમાં જવું જરૂરી નથી. જ્યાં સુધી આપણે આપણી જાતને સંસારિક ટેવોથી મુક્ત ન કરીએ ત્યાં સુધી તેઓ આપણને જકડી રાખશે. યોગી પોતાની હ્રદયગુફામાં પ્રભુને શોધવાનું શીખે છે, જ્યાં પણ તે જાય છે ત્યાં પોતાની સાથે પ્રભુની વિદ્યમાનતાની પરમાનંદદાયક ચેતનાને સાથે રાખે છે.

It is all right to enjoy life; the secret of happiness is not to become attached to anything. Enjoy the smell of flower, but see God in it. I have kept the consciousness of the senses only that in using them I may always perceive and think of God. “Mine eyes were made to behold Thy beauty everywhere. My ears were made to here Thine omnipresent voice.” That is Yoga, union with God. It is not necessary to go to the forest to find Him. Worldly habits will hold us fast wherever we may be until we free ourselves from them. The yogi learns to find God in the cave of his heart. Wherever he goes, he carries with him the blissful consciousness of God’s presence.

આળસુ માણસ પ્રભુને કદી શોધી શકે નહીં. નવરૂં મન સેતાનની કાર્યશાળા બને છે. જેઓ કર્મફળની કોઈપણ ઈચ્છા રાખ્યા સિવાય કર્મ કરે છે અને ફક્ત પ્રભુને પામવાની ઈચ્છા રાખીને જીવે છે તેઓ સાચા ત્યાગી છે.

A lazy person never finds God. An idle mind becomes the worship of the devil. But person who work for a living without any wish for the fruits of action, desiring God alone, are true renunciant.

હ્રદયથી દરેક વસ્તુનો ત્યાગ કરો અને અનુભવો કે તમે ફક્ત જટિલ બ્રહ્માંડિય સિનેમામાં ભાગ ભજવો છો. જે પાઠ વહેલો મોડો પુરો થવાનો જ છે. અને પછી તમે તેને સ્વપ્નાની જેમ ભૂલી જશો. આપણું વાતાવરણ આપણામાં આપણી વર્તમાન ભૂમિકાની ભ્રામક અગત્યતા અને આપણી હાલની કસોટીઓની ભ્રમણા ઉત્પન્ન કરે છે. આવી સાંસારિક ચેતનાથી ઉપર ઉઠો. તમારા અંતરમાં ઈશ્વરનો એવો અનુભવ કરો કે તમારા જીવનમાં ફક્ત તેનો જ પ્રભાવ બની રહે.

At heart renounce everything, and realize that you are just playing a part in the intricate Cosmic Movie, a part that sooner or later must be over. You will then forget it as a dream. Our environment produces the delusion in us of the seeming importance of our present roles and our present tests. Rise above that temporal consciousness. So realize God within that He becomes the only influence in your life.

વૈરાગ્ય એ નિષ્પત્તિ નથી, એ નિષ્પત્તિનું સાધન છે. સાચો ત્યાગી એ છે કે જે તેના બાહ્ય જીવનની રીતભાત તરફ લક્ષ્ય આપ્યા સિવાય ફક્ત પ્રભુ માટે જીવે છે. પ્રભુને પ્રેમ કરવો અને તેને પ્રસન્ન કરવા જીવવું – તે જ વસ્તુ મહત્વની છે. જ્યારે તમે તે પ્રમાણે કરશો ત્યારે તમો પ્રભુને જાણશો.

Renunciation is not an end, it is the means to an end. The real renunciant is he who lives for God first, regardless of his outer mode of existence. To love God and conduct your life to please Him – that is what matters. When you will do that, you will know the Lord.
